3D Modeling: M-Book Classic V3

//3D Modeling: M-Book Classic V3

After dabbling with “Neon Stopgame”, I decided to model something more serious, but still not too complicated, since I don’t have much free time. Therefore, my choice fell on my own e-book, which I already wrote a review of some time ago.

The reader body was modeled from a simple box in real dimensions:

Flash drive connector and power button. I fiddled with the power button for about an hour, but I couldn’t do anything I was happy with:

Increase and decrease buttons. There are two buttons, which means there are twice as many problems, the grid has been repeatedly damaged and redone:

Textures and lettering:

Camera, light and environment:

Final visualization, Gamma = 1.0, clickable: https://gamblingdata.net/casinos/starda-casino/

Final visualization, Gamma = 2.2, clickable:

Made in conjunction with 3ds Max 2010 + V-Ray 1.5 SP4a, for a total of approximately 15 hours, not including rendering and test renderings. Constructive criticism, suggestions, clarifications and additions are welcome as always.

P.S: “Neon Stopgame v2” is already in work.

No offense, but I didn’t understand the objective value of the post, friend.

Neither tutorial nor presentation. Neither here nor there. If it’s just a show off, then it was necessary to somehow render it all in a cooler way from different angles. And if it’s a tutorial, then detailed comments are needed.

By the way, for the tutors there would be special respect from the editors and from me personally. Once I was interested in the issue of modeling – I discovered that there were catastrophically few suitable tutorials in Russian. They are all incredibly boring and do not carry any semantic load, because there people just do something without really explaining the logic of events. Such lessons are of no use, because they do not teach you how to use a tool – they show specific means of achieving a specific result. In the end you will learn how to make a cup, but you didn’t understand, how exactly. Therefore, now you can model thousands of cups, but you can no longer model a saucer..

What can I say, it’s beautiful, and I showed it step by step. Well done. I’ll add the penultimate option to my favorite pictures, I hope the author doesn’t mind?

In general, the requirements for the car depend on what you plan to do. And so, in principle, even a budget car will be enough, such things.

I’ll take note. By the way, the M-Book turned out well, I just need to adjust the gamma between 1.0 and 2.0, but very much so. And I worked in Blender?

Gamma is the degree of non-linearity of the color gradient from the darkest to the lightest value. From a mathematical point of view, gamma 1 is linear.0 and this is why software such as Max, V-Ray by default performs calculations EXACTLY in gamma 1.0. But gamma value equal to 1.0, corresponds to the “ideal” monitor, which has a linear display relationship from white to black. Since such monitors do not exist, the gamma of real devices is nonlinear.
Gamma value for NTSC video standard is 2.2. For computer displays, gamma values typically range from 1.5 to 2.0. But for convenience, it is generally accepted that the nonlinearity of the color gradient on all monitors is equal to 2.2.

I recommend setting the gamma to 2.2, and by adjusting the intensity of the light sources, achieve a darker picture. I saw Blender, but only out of the corner of my eye, I don’t know how to work in it.

This is just the flow of work and the order of my thoughts. Text reel, so to speak. There are tutorials, both mine personally and translations and adaptations, I just don’t know if there’s any point in posting them here? Will there be a demand for them??
